About LED strip lights

LED strips, thanks to their versatility and ease of installation, have a wide range of uses ranging from decoration to other professional uses.

Here in our online shop we have different types of LED strips for you to choose from according to different criteria such as size (SMD 3528 or SMD 5050), brightness (number of LEDs per metre), colour (single colour, multicolour RGB strip roll or dual white), location (indoor or outdoor), type of firmness (rigid or flexible).

In addition, as they can be cut and spliced, LED strip lights give you total freedom to choose the distance to be covered, always calculating the power associated with that surface beforehand to guarantee correct operation.

How to install LED strips?

The installation of LED strip lights is very simple and does not require any training.

Each strip has a strong 3M adhesive to hold it in place and because they are flexible they adapt easily to all types of surfaces.

Once they are fixed, you only have to connect them to the mains via a power supply.

What types of LED strips are there?

Depending on the search criteria you will be able to find different types of LED strips, although the two main classifications are made according to size:

  • SMD 3528: 3.5mm x 2.8mm strips, each LED emits between 3 and 5 lumens.
  • SMD 5050: 5.0 mm x 5.0 mm strips, each LED emits between 10 and 15 lumens.

And to luminosity:

  • 60 SMD 3528 SMD LEDs per metre: emit between 180 and 300 lumens per metre.
  • 120 SMD 3528 SMD LEDs per metre: between 600 and 900 lm/m.
  • 60 SMD 5050 LEDs per metre: between 600 and 900 lm/m.
  • 72 SMD 5050 LEDs per metre: between 720 and 1080 lm/m.
  • 120 SMD 5050 SMD LEDs per metre: between 1,200 and 1,800lm/m.

How much power do LED strips consume?

Consumption depends on the type and number of LEDs used:

  • 60 SMD 3528 LEDs consume 5 W/m per metre (watts per metre of strip).
  • 120 SMD 3528 LEDs consume 9 W/m per metre.
  • 60 SMD 5050 LEDs consume 14.4 W/m per metre
  • 72 SMD 5050 LEDs consume 17.3 W/m. per metre
  • 120 SMD 5050 LEDs consume 28.8 W/m. per metre
