You may be asking yourself what Colour Temperature is when looking over the data sheet of one of our products, well, through this article we will explain the differences between different types of light temperature that are available for the bulbs we have to offer.
Colour temperature is measured in Kelvin and refers to the different tonalities that light can have. These 3 are the most common: Warm white, Daylight (Neutral white) and Cool white.
Light can be made to be either cooler or warmer and is divided into 3 degrees, depending on the tonality of the light: Cool Light (6.500K) for light which has a blue-white tone, Neutral Light, also known as Daylight (4.000K), for white light and Warm Light (2.800K) for light with a orange-white tone. In a room, light can be influenced by the colour of the walls, floors, ceilings and furniture. Even though the choice of colour is mainly influenced by aesthetic and cultural aspects, we have to understand the repercussions this can have on the final result when considering how people may feel when entering a room. Cold tones produce a sensation of sadness and give off a feeling of a reduced area, although, they can also give of a refreshing sensation, making them ideal for decorating in warmer climates. Warm tones are quite the opposite. They're associated with sensations such as exaltation, happiness and give off the feeling like you’re in an open space. They create comfortable environments, which make them a favourite in colder climates.
